What is deliverance according to God?
Psalm 111.9
He has sent redemption to His people; He has ordained His covenant forever; Holy and awesome is His name
God has given Jesus-Christ for the deliverance of mankind. What is then deliverance according to God?
The Pure Faith Season is a season of deliverance for the global church. God is properly enlightening his people to enable it understand a lot of concepts that have been adulterated, to bring back his people to him, at least those repentant hearts that can still hear his voice.
God is bringing back through true faith in Jesus-Christ, explanations of the word of God accompanied by the spirit of life in Jesus-Christ; the teachings of the word of truth that God is making available to his people have but one objective, i.e., the power of Jesus-Christ’s life in our souls.
What God wants to actually see in the reader is Jesus-Christ’s life. He is not much interested in vain criticisms that do not go hand in hand with the pursuit of Jesus6Christ’s life in the soul.
Today’s church is actually suffering from a wealth of vain words through teachings based on basic principles. Actually Paul already warns the Galatians against it:
Colossians 2.8
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ
The false concept of deliverance has made a lot of children of God fall prey to demon-chasing false prophets. They don’t even understand on what or which type of covenant demons base themselves to operate. God has created man with a free will and demon-chasers have never have taught the children of God the basis, i.e., the covenant with Jesus-Christ, one must have from one’s heart through the word, and the need to give up sin that in fact is a covenant with the devil.
Jesus-Christ performs all types of deliverance. However, today, the church is focusing mainly on one aspect of a gift God has giving the church to ensure that it would peacefully carry out its mission, i.e., lead the people to Jesus-Christ. Instead, miracle-seeking crowds fill rooms without clearly understanding what God is pursuing, i.e., Jesus-Christ’s life in our hearts.
When a demon is cast out, the child of God must also be taught how to keep the covenant with Jesus-Christ through the word to avoid keeping the house empty, which would make the person’s situation worse.
Matthew 12.43-45
43 Now when the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and does not find it.
44″Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came’; and when it comes, it finds it unoccupied, swept, and put in order.
45 Then it goes and takes along with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. That is the way it will also be with this evil generation.”
Through the Pure Faith Season, God enables us to do everything Jesus did but with everything, every concept in its rightful place, without taking precedence over the true objective of our faith, i.e., give up sin and carry Jesus-Christ’s life in us.
The devil has succeeded in misleading the church by making a lot of servants seek popularity, strive to give the people what works and eventually unwittingly playing into the devil’s hands. The church is simply about announcing life, preparing the people to receive Christ in their hearts by teaching them the truth. The bottom line is, it is God who does it.
We will elaborate more on this topic for our readers. May God speak to every heart the way he has planned to by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Audio messages are also available)
What is deliverance?
In a broad sense, to deliver is to free from the control of something or free a slave, in a nutshell free man from a difficult or dire situation.
→ To deliver implies that man leaves one state for a better one.
Deliverance in the visible realm will be seen:
For instance, somebody who is delivered from poverty will visibly be living in abundance. He can be considered delivered from poverty.
Deliverance in the invisible realm is quite different. It’s about a soul that leaves death to enter life in Jesus-Christ.
→ This deliverance of the soul can be expressed differently: man leaves the dominance of the given word that dwells in his heart to enter another given word that will settle in him.
NB: There were two trees in the middle of the garden. Only one type of word can dwell in man’s heart at a time. Initially God wanted life in man. When we talk about the dominance of the given word, we are actually referring to the type of tree as in these 2 verses of
Genesis 2.9, 17
9 Out of the ground the LORD God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”
The deliverance of the soul is through the word of eternal life in Jesus-Christ. In other words, it is the tree of life God had instructed man to eat in order to keep life in his soul.
Death in the soul actually refers to the type of word that can be found in it, actually, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
We can fully understand the concept of the deliverance of the soul today, by properly understanding what these two trees in the middle of the garden are. Any man born of Adam is a sinner. Adam disobeyed by eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that any sinner carries in his heart. It is the tree that made man fall into darkness. Man who is separated from God is in the darkness of death.
One can fully understand what deliverance is when one realizes that Jesus- Christ came to deliver us from darkness and lead us into his kingdom of life.
Colossians 1.12-13
12 Giving thanks to the Father, which has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
We must realize that if it is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that made us fall into darkness, for man’s soul to be delivered, it must leave this tree and eat the tree of life.
We must understand that the Lord came to deliver us from death. When John the Baptist called to repentance, he said this:
Matthew 3.10
And now also the ax is laid to the root of the trees: therefore every tree which brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
The tree of the knowledge of good and evil results in death. If you do not repent to follow Jesus-Christ who baptizes the heart with the fire that separates us from darkness in order for us to return to life, you will end up in hell.
True deliverance of the soul will therefore free us from death in order for us not to end up in hell fire.
During our earthly life, only those who accept to follow Jesus-Christ and receive life according to God, i.e., the cross of our Lord Jesus-Christ will be saved or delivered from death.
Thus, true deliverance is that of the soul that must return to life and eat the tree of life.
Soon to come: What is the difference between deliver and cast out demons?
